Dates: THIS EVENT HAPPENED IN SUMMER 2003, click here for current events. Overview This week is an opportunity to spend time with experienced yoga teacher Frances for a relaxing week of yoga in inspiring surroundings. Each day will start with a morning yoga session on an outdoor woodland deck, accompanied by the whispering of leaves and symphony of bird song. Afternoons will provide an opportunity to relax in a hammock under the shade of the trees, to visit one of the nearby river spots for a swim, to do a bit of local exploring on foot, mountain bike or horseback, or to let go completely with a massage. Before supper we will come together to practise mantra or meditation, share some hands-on massage or create our own personal mandalas. After our evening meal there will be a chance to go for a gentle stroll to catch the last of the sun's rays before the close of day or to share stories. In the grounds is a large Mongolian yurt ideal for cosy group gatherings. There is a meditation room with panoramic views across the whole valley. This week has been created to give you a refreshing break. A chance to experience yoga as a way of life. An opportunity to simplify a hectic lifestyle. Accommodation is in twin-bedded rooms. Should anyone prefer to camp out, there is plenty of space for a few tents. The food is Ayurvedic cuisine, deliciously prepared by Alex from local, organic produce. Alex is currently studying Ayurveda and will be available for consultations for anyone interested in learning more about this ancient system of health. Alex and Sharon, along with their two young daughters Skye and Gaia, have created a comfortable, warm, informal atmosphere for this retreat, which will leave you feeling nourished and revitalised. I have been practising and studying yoga for over 25 years, and trained to teach the discipline with the British Wheel of Yoga in 1975. I later qualified as a Registered General Nurse and a massage therapist. This progressed to study and a qualification in craniosacral therapy with the Upledger Institute UK. With this blend of knowledge and experience, I am able to give valuable advice on new ways to look at posture, breathing and relaxation techniques.
