Open Retreats

THIS EVENT HAPPENED IN SUMMER 2003, click here for current events.

Overview

The Sun Centre is open almost year-round for those wishing to spend flexible time here, be it a long weekend, a week, or more. Whether you wish a solitary retreat, or a family/group experience, we will be here to support you.

Price includes accommodation (twin or single room, depending on availability; camping available for reduced rate) plus 3 full meals per day, all prepared with Ayurvedic principles in mind. Any additional activities (see below) will be charged separately.

During your stay, you will be able to make use of our various workspaces and gardens & grounds - ideal for reading, studying, playing music, yoga, meditation etc.

Yoga & Ayurveda

Daily yoga classes, mantra chanting sessions, meditation, guided relaxation and Ayurvedic nutrition consultations are available. Other optional extras include massage, reflexology, Qi-gong classes and various other treatments & activities.

Fun activities

Regular fun activities like swimming / picnics by the river, music-making sessions, story telling, group sharing, art & craft days, trips to local markets, pony-club outings, etc are a regular part of our life here. You are welcome to join in.

Additional information

You may prefer to bring your own yoga mat, though we do have our own stock. Also, please feel free to bring along any musical instruments for occasional evening group gatherings. You may also wish to bring walking shoes, and some wet/cold weather gear (although last year we had a dry autumn/winter).

Additional Activities

Spare time can also be spent in a variety of ways, including complimentary therapy treatments (massage, reflexology, Ayurvedic nutrition consultation, craniosacral therapy, one-to-one yoga tuition, life counselling), hiking, river bathing, picnics, outings to local markets, or simply relaxing in our beautiful gardens & grounds.

What to bring

You may prefer to bring your own yoga mat, though we do have our own stock. Also, please feel free to bring along any musical instruments for evening group gatherings. You may also wish to bring walking shoes, swimming clothes, sun cream etc. We get the occasional thunderstorm, which is always exciting (providing you have packed your mac!). Insect repellent is a good idea, although we never use it ourselves. Finally, do not forget to bring a torch, and spare batteries!
