Yoga Retreat - with Simon Rowe Dates: 21 - 28 May - event starts 4 pm on Saturday 21st and ends after breakfast on Saturday 28th. Cost: €580 Overview A week of hatha yoga, meditation & relaxation, pranayama, partner yoga and basic shiatsu. Simple Qi Gong practices will also be taught. Emphasis will be on exploring the deeper aspects of yoga, getting back to nature by practising outdoors and learning new ways to calm the mind, de-stress the body and enjoy deep relaxation and self-healing on all levels. With plenty of time to relax and explore the surrounding countryside and mountains. Simon Rowe Simon Rowe Dip.Ac, Dip.ESS, studied Zen Shiatsu for 3 1/2 yrs, receiving his diploma from the European Shiatsu School in Marlborough, one of the largest and most respected schools in the west. Further training and workshops were undertaken with key shiatsu masters. An additional year's training in Traditional Chinese Medicine with the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (Reading) was followed by physical training in Qi Gong and an intensive Hatha Yoga teacher training course in South India with the Devon School of Yoga. He stayed on in Kerala, India for 6 months practising yoga with various teachers and visiting many ashrams along the way. He currently teaches 6 private/public classes a week in the Liverpool & Southport areas. Further advanced training was undertaken in Spain in Pranayama, Meditation and Yoga with the DSY, followed by workshops in Iyengar and Dynamic Yoga, and 5 Elements /Tai Chi Qi Gong with the ESS. Simon is currently deepening his knowledge of oriental medicine by studying Japanese acupuncture/ moxibustion with Kiiko Matsumoto (Shiatsu and Acupuncture Master). He has recently studied Chinese Acupuncture at the School of Oriental Body Balance under the tutelage of Dr John Brazier, receiving his Diploma in Acupuncture. He is a Graduate Member of the Shiatsu Society (UK) and the BRCP, with membership of the BWY and the British Yoga Teacher Association. He is fully insured and indemnified through Balens & Co. Event proper begins Sunday morning and ends Friday night. Departure is any time after breakfast on Saturday 28th. Early arrivals are not possible. If you plan to arrive in the South of France on Saturday 21st, and make your way to us by public transport, you will need to be in the Nimes or Montpellier area by 2:30 pm and no later (unless you drive or take a taxi direct from the airports, in which case 4 pm is acceptable), otherwise you are unlikely to make it to the centre before dinner at 7 pm. Often our guests fly to Nimes or Montpellier on a late flight on the Friday and spend the night in a hotel. Please consult the travel page for more information.
